San Francisco's part of the worldwide rally against Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez

(1) NEWS ARTICLE PUBLISHED BY ANITA DUMONT & PEASLEE F. DUMONT, MD ON INDYBAY.ORG: http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2009/09/05/18620942.php San Francisco's part of the worldwide rally against Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez combined several groups opposing the"Caudillo's" totalitarian actions. On 9/4/09 there was a worldwide rally "NO MAS CHAVEZ" protesting the Venezuelan president's subversion of democracy. The San Francisco rally drew anti-Chavez protesters from several organizations, including No Mas Chavez, Un Mundo Sin Mordaza, Un Million de Voces, and RECIVEX (Resistencia Civil de Venezolanos en el Exterior), groups with varying specific interests who all join in opposition to the man who is crushing civil rights and human rights in Venezuela. Approximately 40 people demonstrated against Chavez in San Francisco on 9/4/09. Of significant interest in the way media works is the spread of mis-information that the SF rally was actually in favor of Chavez. In fact only two of the people who showed up were supporting the Venezuelan "caudillo" (strong-man), but the twisting of an internet message (and possibly a radio broadcast) to suggest the opposite is characteristic of the way Hugo Chavez manipulates information in his own country.
