ME HUELE A TAN PODRIDO !

LA PETICION -- THE PETITION

'IN GOD WE TRUST' Cuba - Petition http://xld.com/Freedom4Cuba/petition.html Esta es la direccion de la Sra. Lillian Martinez lillian.martinez@usa.net Petition to the Congress House of the United States of America. Honorable Members of the Congress : The present Petition and plight for the Freedom of the Cuban people is one of the most important ones that you might have received in some time. It is our most cherished Agenda and a very staunch conviction that only a FREE CUBA, one that is not ruled by nepotism, despotically and not exploited by a gangster-like family as it is at present and for the last 50 years, should at this very same hour , in time, get at last its FREEDOM and be able to live under a REPUBLICAN form of government AND ruled by true and legitimate elected representatives of the PEOPLE. We are not stating here all the crimes, violations and abuses of that regime in Cuba during the lapse of these 50 last years. We know that it would be a futile exercise , since all the precedent Administrations of the U.S.A. have been assessed and informed by the Cuban community as well as the USA's Central Intelligence Agency , as well as by other institutions. The objectives of our PETITION are : 1.0.- To ask for your consensus in eliminating the Interdiction to fight for the Freedom of Cuba under the Law of Neutrality , and support our people's struggle to that end. 2.0.- And under this consensus : To allow our exile community to fight that regime and get support from this administration. 3.0.- To sustain and enlarge the scope of measures to exert pressure on that dictatorship, including the Cuban embargo. 4.0.- to look forward the total liberation of Cuba by any means needed. All of these points should help to obtain the liberation of Cuba, and establish in that island a new era, a change to the last 50 years of dire and cruelest oppression by the Cuban Communist Party. Change is also needed for the Cuban People. This CHANGE in regime would be of much benefit to the American People as well as the Cubans. For the Cubans have been deprived for 50 years of producing freely, of creating wealth freely and of course all the country has been going down the drain because of the State Monopoly in ownership of all means of production, Plantations, Lands, Factories, Services, and Real State sectors, which were confiscated, or nationalized during the first years of the decade 1960-70. Some $ 2,5 Billion worth of American businesses were stolen by the Cuban Communist Party. Some $ 4 billion of Cuban properties, businesses and assets were stolen by the Cuban Communist Party.Cuba was in the 1950's the THIRD TRADING PARTNER of The USA.From those figures above, you Hon. Members of the Congress of the USA have the scope and perspectives of what a FREE CUBA could mean to American Businesses and Enterprising Community. Studies by the Cuban Exile Organizations have been made in these last 20 years of those perspecctives from the Economic angle. The destruction that has happened in Cuba during all these years , the lack of FREE TRADE and the neglection by that regime of the needs of the Cuban People , the ruins that can be seen all over , should give the American business Community one prety good idea of the new opportuinties that would come ONLY IF CUBA IS A FREE NATION AGAIN. It's figured out that just in the FIRST five years of Republic and Freedom in Cuba the needs for all kinds of goods, foodstuff goods and machinery, tools, and construction equipment would amount to over $10 billion worth.BUT THE CUBAN COMMUNIST PARTY DICTATING OVER CUBA WOULD NEVER BUY THAT MUCH OR ALLOW THIS LEVEL OF BUSINESS TO HAPPEN ... ONLY THE 11 MILLION CUBAN PEOPLE WOULD.! If they are free ! THEREFORE : We the Cuban Exile Community , the Exile Organizations , Institutions, Cuban Business entities, and American citizens ask your agrement on this petition , so the Cubans would be allowed to fight for their country and liberate it from the paws of that bloody tyranny. Very Truly yours , To sign this petition, send your name, address and telephone number to: lillian.martinez@usa.net We will NOT publish your ADDRESS and TELEPHONE NUM. only the name and locality. Clinton tries to remake US image in Latin America

Clinton tries to remake US image in Latin America By MATTHEW LEE – 13 hours ago SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras (AP) — http://www.voanews.com/english/2009-06-02-voa56.cfm U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is trying to ease long-standing resentment of U.S. policies in Latin America by attending events this week that highlight Washington's awkward history with the region. In El Salvador on Monday for the inauguration of Mauricio Funes, the nation's first leftist president — the latest of a series of elected socialist leaders in the region — Clinton suggested that President Barack Obama's politics may help his effort to re-engage in the hemisphere. "It is very clear that President Obama and President Funes share so much in common," she said after the inauguration and a private meeting with Funes. Funes comes from a party of a former Marxist rebel group that fought a 12-year war against successive conservative governments and a military supported by billions of dollars in aid from Washington. "Some might say President Obama is left of center and of course that means that we are going to work well with countries that share our commitment to improving and enhancing the human potential," Clinton told reporters at a news conference with Funes. Shortly afterward, she left and arrived in Honduras where on Tuesday she will attend a top-level meeting of the Organization of American States that will test the Obama administration's new openness toward Cuba. In El Salvador, Clinton repeatedly stressed that she and Obama were committed to a "new approach to the region," one that emphasized engagement and cooperation and not ideological battles. "We have to recognize that our country is not perfect either, that some of the difficulties that we had historically in forging strong and lasting relationships in our hemisphere are a result of us perhaps not listening, perhaps not paying enough attention," she told employees at the U.S. Embassy in San Salvador. Funes is a one-time journalist and member of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front, which fought U.S.-backed Salvadoran regimes from 1980 to 1992. His inauguration marked the country's first peaceful transition of power from right to left since the end of the war. "By putting aside old conflicts and coming together in a peaceful transition of power, you have affirmed the strength and durability of your democracy," Clinton said in a brief statement played on a local radio station. Funes has promised good relations with the United States but El Salvador will no longer be the sure supporter of U.S. policies it was under the previous conservative government that allied itself closely with President George W. Bush's administration. After his inauguration speech, Funes formally restored El Salvador's ties with Cuba, broken off in 1961, leaving the United States as the last country in the Western Hemisphere without full diplomatic relations with the nation. On Tuesday, the 34 countries in the Organization of American States may vote on whether to reverse Cuba's nearly 50-year-old suspension from the group. U.S. officials, who insist that Cuba must first make political reforms, want to stall a vote and Clinton said the communist island had to live up to democratic ideals similar to the ones represented by Funes' election in March and inauguration on Monday . "We believe it is in the best interests of the Cuban people and our region to be more integrated in the region," Clinton said. "We think that there is an opportunity for Cuba to be more involved, but at the same time, we want to see the peaceful transfer of power that we saw this morning possible for the Cuban people." "We don't see those as mutually exclusive," she added. Although Obama has signaled some willingness to back away from a half-century of U.S. policy toward the communist country, his administration says it will not support any effort to get Cuba back into the OAS until it changes its political system. A vote could put the U.S. on the spot. Although the OAS generally operates by consensus, a two-thirds majority vote, or 23 countries, is all that's needed for a resolution to pass. Clinton said Sunday the Obama administration was pleased Havana has accepted a U.S. proposal to resume suspended immigration talks and restore direct mail links between the two countries. "We have said that we look forward to the day when Cuba, if it so wishes, can rejoin the OAS," she said, adding, however, that membership "comes with responsibilities." EL MOTIVO DETRAS DE LA CONFERENCIA

'IN GOD WE TRUST'
The Pacific’s Audie Murphy is a Cuban By Humberto Fontova, on May 23, 2009, at 12:35 pm When Japan's ferocious General Tomoyuki Yamashita ("The Tiger of Malaya") finally emerged from his headquarters on Luzon to surrender he handed his pistol, samurai sword and battle flag to the nearest U.S. soldier he saw. This was Cuban born, Manuel Perez-Garcia. At war's end the 82nd Airborne presented a special trophy to the U.S. soldier who had racked up the most enemy kills in the Pacific theater. Today that trophy sits prominently in Miami's Bay of Pigs Museum, donated by the man who won it, Bay of Pigs veteran and Cuban born, Manuel Perez Garcia. (Who started with the 82nd but fought in the Pacific with the 11th Airborne) The trophy sits alongside the three purple hearts, three bronze stars and three silver stars Mr Perez-Garcia earned in the Pacific. At age 51 Perez-Garcia volunteered for the Bay of Pigs invasion and gave the Castroites a thrashing as bad as he'd given the Japanese. Manuel Perez-Garcia still lives in Miami, at age 101, and is active in the Bay of Pigs Veterans assoc. http://babalublog.com/2009/05/the-pacifics-audie-murphy-is-a-cuban/
