A VIEW FROM ALASKA
by Dewey Whetsell The last forty five yrs. of my sixty six yrs. I 've spent in a commercial fishing town of Alaska. I understand Alaskapolitics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point : Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it.
It's not about p[ersons,style,rethorics, it's about doing things. Even Plain supporters never mention the things that I am about tomention here.
1.- Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the governor's office away from a fellow Republican and though SOB, Frank Murkowsky, she tore into the Republicans' Corrupt Bastards Club ( CBC) and sent it packing . Many of its members are now residing in State housing and wearing orange suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti, and singing "La,la,la, la" ( well you know how they are )
Name another governor in this country who has ever done anything similar . but while you are tinking, I'll continue.

2.-Now, with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaska politicians to protect the giant oil companies here. So Palin constructed and enacted a New System of Splitting the oil profits called "ACES" EXXON mOBIL (the biggest corporation in the world protested, and Sarah told it, " Don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." It stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course , the other huge international oil companies fell meekly into line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country who has done anything similar.
3.- The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is that she got the list of state requests for federal funding for projects known as "pork" . She went through the list took 85 % percent of them out, and placed them in the "when-hell-freezes-over" stack. She let the locals know that if we need something built, we we'll pay for it ourselves.Maybe she figured out she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant.Maybe she could cook ( remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the state vehicle issued to her ( maintaining that she already had a car ), and dismissing her state-provided security force ( never mentioning --I imagine -- that she was packing "heat" herself ). I"m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors who have done the same.
4.- Even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly" manerisms , she manageged to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built that will be the biggest private construction project in the history
of North America. No one else could do it even if they tried. If that doesn't impress youy, you're trying to hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a bunch of brownies with her other hand.
5.-
For thirty years Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling a a place called Point Thompson. It made excuses the entire time for why it couldn't start drilling. In truth it was holding it as an investment.No governor for thirty years could make it get started. This summer ,she told EXXON she was revoking its lease and kickingit out . It protested and threatened court action.She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the courthouse.ALASKA WON AGAIN !
6.- Pres. Obama wants the nation to be on 25 % percent renewable resources for electricity by 2025.Sarah Palin went tothe legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% percent renewable by 2025. We are already at 25 % percent.
I can give you more specifics about things done as opposed to style and personal. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool, .But that's just a cover -up.
I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years.I won't be holding my breath.
By the way, she was content toreturn to Alaska after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn't let hher.
Now ,these adolescent screeches are obviuosly not scuba divers

All my sympathies are on the side one think is best for this great country.
So I side and sympathize with Sarah of America Palin.
And I discovered during the last presidential campaign ,the two candidates that came forward as actual players in the current American politics: Sarah Palin and B. Hussein Obama.
Seeing no halt in demonizing Bush and then Sarah and of course McCain, by the
mass media's journalists, with most of them tending always to the left, my immediate reaction and fair, but honest stand was to condemn or belittle the slanderers, liars and twisters , as I and many people saw them during their rants against the Republican candidates .
That injustice and even abuse of a certain "power" ,based on lies and misrepresentations against Sarah Palin, justified my taking side with Sarah Palin ,and to seek to know more about this extraordinary woman.
Today I think, with much more certainty that I was right to rely on my instinctive sympathy for Sarah Palin.
I bought the book she wrote and I've discovered much more about this Sra. Palin, as well as her trajectory-career in American policy.
I've seen that she has always look forward or sought to serve, assist and defend their fellow citizens, regardless of her own personal interest.
Sarah Palin, is an idealist, but her idealism no one should confused with a lack of pragmatism. Her vision and foresight in general and in the philosophical is added to her experience in Alaska's politics, which are more than sufficient credentials to prove it to everyone who she is and what is her Curriculum Vita if any one try to pull that into a question.
Republicans today are labeled right-wing or right wing, however, before, in Lincoln's time, Republicans were today's liberals.
If - in Sarah Palin and what she expresses and is contained in her political philosophy - can be defined as right-wing or ultra-conservative, then: Hurray for Sarah Palin and her ideals of serving her people and the most elevated or patriotic interests of that land.
Comparing her Curriculum Vitae, with that of Mr. Obama, we see that Mr. Obama does not have anything comparable to what Sarah Palin has in hers... and that he or his party and the Medias can't , deny her that point as neither, can her own party's rivals.
Her ( Sarah's) CV is in Alaska, is in the thousands of her fellow citizens of this state of the nation.
For they know what she accomplished for them and their state.
Sarah is a conservative, right wing, which went against big business, or the most powerful oil corporations in the country and the world. Yet she put them to their "knees" and told them the way out the door of her office ... when she was governor.
That was when discussing the future of the concessions in the lease of the oilfields,and were required to start them to produce or their licenses and rights would be canceled .
She made them pay the taxes and dividends for the people of Alaska, or citizens of that State,
for their profits with the precious black gold.
Yes! ... This conservative is Sarah Palin ,this rightist , went against the powerful, rich Oil Corpotations
to defends the people or the citizens of Alaska State. ... and that ...without being leftist or socialist .!!!!
Compare it, to what the leftists and liberaloides of the opposite party have done in their careers. And here we should see what is much more invention and sale of labels than truth and honesty,by that mass medias and the rivals , when referring to Sarah Palin of America.
I see - now --- danger for Sarah, for there are ambitions behind much of the Democrats, and more specifically in Obama, and they will try something unprecedented in the history of the United States of America against Sarah Palin.
NOTE WELL AND REMEMBER THIS COMMENT of MINE TODAY!
Therefore I would advise just the same to Sarah Palin: Wait don't rush to the next elections...wait yet for the next time to be the Presidential candidate.
She must wait until his party was restored and consolidated in the esteem and supported by a good majority of the American people.
